    Plans are underway to have a fully fledged university in Trans Nzoia County as a way of enhancing access to higher education. The county government in collaboration with the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology will establish a constituent college as a first step towards having a fully fledged university that will specialize in agriculture and technology.     Its a noble idea. It was long overdue. But never the less better late than never. Has somebody cracked the university’s name yet?

    True, it is a noble idea since the County Government Staff stand to benefit immensely through training in different areas particularly in agriculture. Moreover, investment opportunities together with many jobs will be created! What do you think should be the name?

    Emphasis on much needed technical(practical) courses and agribusiness would be a plus,not replicating the already crowded degree courses.
